Short and not so sweet
Well the baboons have still proved to be elusive most days. I suspect they have preceded us in vacationing at the beach and are laughing at Laura and I because we still get up at 3:45 to be out in the field by 4:30 in hopes of catching if not but a glance of these supposed monkeys we are to be studying. But this has allowed us to spend a fair amount of time exploring around. The first pic is of a baboon’s ass drinking from the bay before the rains. Since the storms that flooded us last week and a bit this weekend the waterfalls and swimming holes have filled and Dale, at times Laura, and I have been drinking bad beer and exploring waterfalls and swimming ventures. The beer Dale and Laura are pictured with is Leopard Beer, by far the most awful beer I’ve ever had. However I recently discovered the bottle store by the reserve carries MGD, and sadly I got really excited. Amy +1 are coming to camp on Tuesday of next week and Jamina will be arriving next Friday the 15th. Everyone at camp has someone coming in so things will be pretty hectic and exciting. This week we also got a new Aussie researcher who is very excited and talkative and young-20. But will fit in very nicely I think. The beast has been acting up and I‘ve decided that mechanic is certainly something I need to add to the list of things I wanna be when I grow up. We’ve got timing problems, a gas leak, and radiator issues-all of which I have zero to minimal experience. Though I could distinguish the smell of gas from other liquids which is all one can really expect I suppose. Will try to post a little before I leave for vacation to Kruger, Bloemfontein, and Cape Town- surely I’ll get something in here before I leave…..
Henley, yes, you must give me a call, or learn how to text me. By far the easiest way to communicate with me. There is some website that allows you to internationally text via computer and is supposedly inexpensive. Google it and I could probably split the cost with you if you wantJ good to hear you and peter are doing well.

Sean-keep me posted on your ventures into the blogging world. I would probably spend more time reading yours than I spend planning or writing mine. Obviously…oh and tell noodles to give the alley cats in Phoenix a break, and we will chat soon enough

hi friend. i ate at casbah the other night. it was delicious and made me think of you. then i went out on a tirade that lasted until 4am - which also made me think of you. i think you would fit in well with the random hilarity that i find tucson to be. school is almost done for the semester, just one more paper to write which i am successfully procrastinating. and i am writing an abstract on my research so i can go to the american society of microbiology meeting in may. it's in toronto- how glorious is that? bet you're jealous. glad you are having fun swimming, too bad about the shitty beer. i'm beginning to love beer more and more, still hate tea though.

What kinda music situation you have there? I've got a bluegrass tribute to Modest Mouse you probably can't legally listen to in a place with elusive baboons. Elusive Baboons and Modest Mice are friends in the animal kingdom. And you should trust me about animals, I've fed some.
